Wavelengths 002: Web3 for whom?

In late November, we hosted our second Wavelengths in Miami, Florida in partnership with Refraction at their Miami Art Week Summit. We were brought in as programming partners for two days of conversations around emerging tech trends in music and art, and their impact on creators, culture, and communities.

For the first day of programming, inspired by the global nature of applicants for Refraction’s grant program, our Wavelengths panel asked themselves one question: “ Web3 for Whom?” Our panel of passionate builders of community and culture in Web3 discussed the nature of cultivating a diverse Web3 landscape for artists and their communities around the globe.

Thanks so much to our moderator Sarah Mackenzie , and our speakers Steph Guerrero ( Tellie ), Nicholas Padilla ( Miami Community Radio ), Jac Vaca ( Polygon Studios ), and Abieyuwa ( African NFT Community ).

Our paying research members (alongside Refraction pass holders) can now access a recording of the conversation below.

This year, we’ve got a number of events on the horizon — including a forthcoming panel in Washington DC (RSVP to come), and something a bit larger announcing soon.

To commemorate the event and conversation, and to support Water & Music and the Wavelengths series (not to mention our incredible speakers and partner for this event, Refraction), consider purchasing our Wavelengths 002 MIA NFT. A portion goes to our speakers for their time, and buyers become Wavelength NFT holders — with a soon-to-be-announced utility tied to a larger event.
